William John Douglas died unexpectedly on July 21st, 2017 in Orlando, FL at the age of 58.

Bill is survived by His wife, Susan; Children Suzanne, Kimberly & William Jr.: Step Children Clinton, Phillip & Charmain; Grandchildren Cheyenne, Kylee, Colin & Savannah.

Bill was born on February 5th, 1959 in Wilmington, Delaware to James Charles Douglas, Sr. & Betty Douglas. Bill graduated from UCF with a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology.

Bill was a reserved gentle person who loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He had a passion for building and a strong determination to figure things out. As a self -proclaimed Trekkie, who loved all things science fiction, he never missed an opportunity to explore new endeavors. He always had a creative solution for a problem, for better or worse, but it was his imagination that made everything fun and adventurous. His grandchildren would describe him as friendly, smart, caring and positive. It is these qualities that he has instilled in them, and through them, his legacy will go on.

A funeral is scheduled for 10am Thursday, July 27th at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home. Rev. Carpenter will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bill's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The American Heart Association.

I am broken hearted to hear of Bills passing. Our world has lost a wonderful man and I can only prey his family understands he was taken because he is so special to God and anyone who knew him.
I only had the pleasure of working near him and getting to know his wonderful personality and life force, I can only wish I had the opportunity to get to know him better.
I know Bill effected everyone's life in a positive way and direction, I can only wish more of the world had the opportunity to know him as well!!

    God Bless you all!

I am very sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. We worked together for over twelve years, and he was one of the most genuine people I have had the pleasure of knowing. He was knowledgeable, kind and thoughtful and we had plenty of good laughs together over the years. He will be truly missed. God bless you Bill.

*For Bill*.....I know we here as a Family, are still extremely saddened on Bills passing, and logistically and unfortunately cannot attend his farewell (Sue will understand) But I feel compelled to put something up somewhere, either as on Social media, or via his obituary, and would firstly just like to echo completely what Our family have said and stated on these mediums. And that I would go a little further in saying. - I am sure Bill would not have minded me writing this, and I have no doubt that he would have completely understood and appreciated such whilst he is looking down on Thursday? - (Quote: Tasha Yar).........Death is that state in which one exists only in the memory of others. Which is why it is not an end. No goodbyes. Just good memories. Hailing frequencies closed, sir....
    - Au revoir, Bill xx ...and God speed!

Will miss my fellow I&C tech, whom I worked with side by side for years at Stanton. Unit B is what it is today because of Bill and all of us who worked so well as a team together. We overcame so many obstacles and did our best to be all we could be. Bills drive and support helped make our jobs easy and fulfilling. Until we meet again Bill.

Bill we only saw you occasionally. The few times we visited you, and the times you came to the UK to visit us all when Mother was still with us. Mother was a great judge of character and she took to you immediately because you were such a nice caring thoughtful and sincere person . We all here, your UK family think the same ,such a unique character who loved our sister to bits and looked after her so dearly ...R.I.P fella we will all miss you xxxxxxx
